Recently, we read an article about this subject with all the hype surrounding the new G. I. Joe: Rise of Cobra movie and think that it’s absolutely true. Just like Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes and the rest of the G. I.’s are in a constant battle against COBRA so are we in a constant battle everyday against the supernatural enemy, Satan.

And even if some of us aren’t into all of the bomb exploding and heavy duty fighting that goes on in wars, anyone would admit that there’s something interesting to see when people are fighting for a good cause. And it doesn’t just have to be in wars, people fight everyday for good causes – like helping the homeless or making sure that orphans get loving homes and families or working everyday to find cures for leukemia. So, in a different sense, all of us are soldiers – loyal and fighting for different causes.

As Christians, we also are in an army and must fight everyday to win. The day that we accepted Jesus Christ into our hearts and lives, we were also enlisted into His army and we must be faithful in carrying out His commands. No, as Christian kid G. I.’s we don’t have to use nanotechnology and go on a mad dash across all of France to save the lovely Eiffel Tower from warheads (though, that would be super cool to do) but it is our job to be loyal to Christ and to witness to as many people as possible.

And we can’t take our commands and be lousy with them, we have to take them seriously unless we’ll miss the chance to be a victor for Jesus and earn glittering crowns. Don’t get distracted by worldy idols or evil temptations, be strong and full of courage and never ever afraid. Good G. I.’s are always ready to go, always ready for a battle, and fully prepared whenever they are called on a mission. And as Christians, we have God’s Word to help and protect us and most of all we’ve got the power of God Himself living inside us through the Holy Spirit.

So G.I. Christian…soldier up and get ready for action!

Summer Fun!!!

We know we haven’t posted for quite awhile now but it is most certainly good to be back on our blog. This summer has already been quite exciting, we’ve had two birthdays and seen lots of movies, plus two of us (which would be Danae’ and Danita) are getting braces – it is really cool! and we all, or atleast three of us out of the four have new glasses. Super splendid matching ones! We’ve also been studying hard for the Fall when school starts back again and we’re continually coming up with new ideas for The Adventures of Lilly!

We know this adventure book must be taking the longest of times to get finished, even our dad jokes us about that, but it is shaping up really good! and we’re very excited about it and can’t wait to get into your hands. Plus! we had another book out this summer with our brothers and older sister in appreciation of our father called Dear Papa (check out the website here). Our dad is really the greatest dad in all the world – we’ve already had soooooooo many good times together this year.

And besides all that is going on in our lives (God is really blessing in wonderful ways!) we’re also excited about all that is taking place in the world. Peter Jackson and del Toro down in NZ seem to be making some headway on The Hobbit films and The Dawn Treader has also started filming in the wonderful land of the Aussies. Since watching movies together with our family is one of our favorite past times, we keep up on all most all of the movie news. We really love to see the talent and imagination and colorful genius that God has given to movie makers to bring fantastical worlds to our Earth. It is really something to think about – the silver screen is pure gold when a good movie with awesome actors and an imaginative director touch it. We are also excited about the brand new Alice in Wonderland film by Burton and Disney that is due to hit theaters next year – that day is a very important date indeed! Summer officially started yesterday on Father’s Day so our magazine is finished and ready to go either today or tomorrow. So don’t forget to check out our site. We have a whole section in their on fathers and Father’s Day because even though Father’s ‘Day’ is over doesn’t mean that we can’t do something special for them on normal days. Father’s Day should be everyday!

We had a fantastic Father’s Day with our dad yesterday – delicious food and made this supurb cake with strawberries and whipped cream, it was actually a chocolate strawberry shortcake and then we watched a movie together and showed a video that we had done for him. He really liked it!

We stayed up last night and were looking at music videos. We ended up seeing two really cool ones, we’ve known about the bands, of course, but this is our first time seeing these two videos from Switchfoot and Newsboys. They’re really great so watch them below and we’re looking forward to hearing them both again on the Coconut Hut Radio Show tomorrow.

Summer '09 Edition

Our next magazine is coming your way very soon. We’ve already started working on it but our dad told us that Summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21st so we still have quite a few days. The cover is on the left, we’re going to have some pretty cool features on three girls, exactly like you and me, who are doing some splendid stuff for God. Our delight as Christians is in knowing God and walking in His ways – firmly grounded in His word.

It is not the way of the Lord to live in the counsel of the ungodly – following their advice. In other words, we don’t listen to what the world says we should do, but we do what God’s word says to do. We don’t stand in the path where sinners walk. In other words, we don’t walk down the path they are walking, coming under their influence. We don’t sit down to rest where the scornful and mockers gather – to be seen as like-minded with them.

God’s ways are so different to the world’s ways. The times we live in today are hard. There is so much the world is telling us that seems all right on the surface – but it’s lies masked as truth. We need to pray that God would show us the truth amongst it all – seeking His counsel in it.

As we continue to live by God’s word, we shall be like a tree firmly planted by streams. We shall be nourished and refreshed, always producing fruit in season. God blesses our stand for Him. No matter what the ungodly say or do, as we stand for Jesus and the truth of God’s word – we shall be blessed.
